The first unit of Social Studies at Colton Middle School centers on basic geography. In this unit, we will seek to understand the five themes of geography: location, place, human-environment interaction, movement, and region. As we learn about each theme, we will use real-world examples and student experiences to build our knowledge of each theme. Students will be assessed on their knowledge at the end of the unit, most likely at the end of the first quarter of the school year. Please see below for links to slides and in-class work completed for each day. Unless an assessment is posted on Google Classroom, most worksheets can be printed and completed at home.
